Spring working party.  Ramp and compound.

Ongoing work from the February and earlier March working parties was continued.   The joists under the ramp which had become rotten have been replaced and all wood installed again on top and creosoted, plus some cementing its now stable again.  The grids have now been re-fitted and its looking great in readiness for the new season.
All in all there were 38 members at the club on the Sunday, cleaning, mending, cutting grass and tidying the compound.  A fantastic effort and what a wonderful sailing community here at Goldhanger SC.

Sea Sunday Service

The Sea Sunday Servce arranged by the local churches is held at the sailing club each year. This years speaker was from the Maldon Oyster Company, who cultivate oysters in the River Blackwater, including Goldhanger Creek. We thought this would be of particular interest to club members. The short service had an environmental focus this year.  There was good attendance followed by a great afternoon sailing for 7 boats.

Clubhouse roof repairs

The roof of the clubhouse has been repaired. Thank you to Ralph’s roofing for a great job and finishing off with the fantastic drone images you can see below.

New Roof

Looks like a great job. Whilst the felt was pretty rotten the actual wood underneath was not too bad. Only 4 panels needed replacing and a be cross member. Thank you to Kay and Tallulah for letting the guys in and out.
